Not so daily blog #2

Hi guys ☺

we haven't really done much as it has been so cold outside!! We went to the skip this morning to get rid of some cardboard as hubby doesn't like putting loads in our recycling bin (I don't understand him either!) We wrapped baby up in her pink GAP onesie which matches my mams hoodie.

Hubby went to town to get some more of baby's Christmas presents, so far we have three toys and a baby walker but there's another four toys I want to get her! She's going to love it! She is getting two christmas' though as we have too much stuff to take it all up to my parents house at Christmas so she's going to open all of ours here and then on Christmas day open her presents off everyone up in Sunderland.

She's going to look so cute too as for Christmas eve she has a little elf vest and tights which say 'give me presents or elf' which I though was super cute! She's got a Christmas onesie with Minnie mouse on for Christmas eve night and then she has a santa dress with 'mummy's Christmas cutie' on it for Christmas day. I just couldn't resist buying them! She also has a normal dress for boxing day by ted baker as it so gorgeous and we wanted her to wear it on a special occasion!

We had a bit of a stressful day on Sunday so baby was clingy all afternoon and night, which meant I couldn't get anything to eat until 9pm when she finally went to sleep. It was quite cute though as she was cuddling into me and stroking my hair. I love that she feels safe with me and comes to me for comfort 😍

She went to nursery on Monday as I went to uni, and she seemed so happy to be there!last week I may have mentioned that she didn't seem happy with one of the women there, but she seemed fine with the ones that were there this time. She went straight to one of the girls for cuddles and was smiling at her ☺

Not so daily blog #1

I have realised I haven't posted in ages and I felt a bit bad! I was going to do daily blogs but I think that would require too much of me currently so I'm going to do hopefully a couple of blogs a week and then in December do blogmas.

So this week:

💖 baby still has a bad cough and we have had to give her cough medicine, and nurofen on one occasion. It seems to be worse on a night though.

💖 my parents came down on Wednesday to look after baby as I have labs at uni and hubby is at work so there was no one to look after her. She adores my mam though and even cried when my parents left! They are coming down again this week!

💖 she started to tentatively crawl this week but doesn't really like being on her tummy much atm so hasn't really practiced it.

💖 she tried some baby porridge as she wasn't having as much milk as maybe she should be, and I got a bit worried about her weight. I know we are meant to wait until we have spoken to a health visitor bit she is more than 17 weeks old now and honestly she loved it! She couldn't get enough of it!

💖 she has started to fit into her 3-6 months leggings now and we have started using the vests on her too. Her friend who is a day older than her is already in 6-9 months vests and 9-12 month leggings! But as they are only 4 months old I'm not too worried that baby is smaller as she is closer to the 4 month clothes than he is.

💖 we love using her Disney pramsuit on her as she looks so adorable in it! It is white with pale pink and a picture of Minnie mouse on it. It is so snuggly and Warm although it is slightly too big for her still. We may have to start putting her in the sitting up part of the pram soon rather than the lying down part as she does seem to be getting quite big in it now.

💖 baby loves playing in her bouncer and has started to play with the toys on it. She loves the bit that spins round and has the mirror and beads in it.

💖 we have sung lots of songs together but her favourites are Disney songs like I just can't wait to be king from the lion king and she loves the lion sleeps tonight too.

This week...#1

This week....

☺ EmJ got and recovered from her first viral infection. It was hard, and heartbreaking for us but she was actually really good. She whinged a little and was a bit clingy but she didn't really cry much with it so I am super impressed with her!

☺ my mam and dad came to visit as I had to go into hospital for a couple of hours. My mam came with me and my dad looked after EmJ, he changed his first nappy and fed her! She was really well behaved and we are so proud of her!

☺ she took her first few crawling paces before forgetting to keep moving her arms! We think she is going to be crawling properly very soon as she loves it!

☺ she supported herself sitting up, we sat her up then let go and she supported herself for a few minutes before falling back (we did catch her). She is so strong!

☺ my aunty and cousin came to visit from Sunderland and EmJ was sick on them! She did laugh and giggle along with them though which was cute. And they bought her a gorgeous pink winnie the pooh sleep suit for when it gets a bit colder!

☺ I have started doing housework while EmJ is asleep. I used to sit in the same room as her to make sure she was okay but I got nothing done around the house so I have set up the baby monitor as we have one with video and sound so I can watch her while I am tidying up. My dad tidied and hoovered when he came down so I just have to keep it tidy and hoover every couple of days.

☺ we discovered a new game of me throwing a blanket on her (softly) and her kicking it off and giggling. We did this for about an hour before I got bored but she would have carries on! It was cute to watch and she loved it!!

☺ we went to the library and got her some baby books for us to read together. I didn't have time to get any for me though!

☺ we have started bathing her a bit earlier now as I thought 8pm was too late for her so I decided 6pm.  This means I can  bath her and feed her and put her to bed a bit earlier which will be better for her and she did settle fine.

☺ she has started to have some formula milk now as because I have had something removed from my breast, the wound is too close to where she feeds and there was a worry about infection etc so I have to feed her from the other breast and top up with formula. We chose aptamil and she seems to like it which is good. I do feel guilty about giving formula as well but it wasn't a situation I had any control over, and she is still getting some breastmilk.

☺hubby started back to work this week, so most of the day EmJ and I are alone together. She doesn't really seem to have noticed but he does ask me to send him pictures of her regularly throughout the day as he misses her.

I think that is about it for this week. It is hard work having a baby but it is so rewarding too!

First daily blog

Today has been a lazy day. I've got a bad cold and haven't had much sleep, and baby pixie is just getting over her injections. She has been really good today and only cried a couple of times when she was hungry.
We have had tummy time, which she spent most of the time trying to watch sky sports news with her daddy.
She played with her new cuddly rabbit that we got her for being brave when she had her injections, even though she doesn't understand!
We didn't go for our usual walk today as it was cold outside and we haven't got a coat that fits her yet so her daddy went to town to buy her one.
She was a bit sick in the evening after her bath, so I have had to stay awake all night as she wouldn't settle anywhere bit snuggled into me, not even with her daddy!

So that has been our day.
